KDF to Launch Pop-Up Play Program, Supported by $5,000 RCCF Grant

Kids Discovery Factory is excited to announce that we have received a $5,000 grant from the Ripley County Community Foundation to support a series of hands-on Pop-Up Play Events throughout our region.

This funding will help Kids Discovery Factory continue bringing playful learning opportunities directly to families while we prepare our building for the construction of our future permanent children’s museum in downtown Batesville.

The Pop-Up Play Events are designed to create exciting, family-friendly experiences where children can explore, build, create, and discover through interactive activities. These events are intentionally designed to be welcoming and accessible for families across southeastern Indiana by making all Pop-Up Play programs free of charge. By hosting programs in community spaces, parks, schools, libraries, and festivals, we will be able to reach children who may not otherwise have access to high-quality hands-on learning opportunities.

“Our goal is to spark curiosity and joyful learning experiences for children and families throughout the region,” said Emili Uden, Executive Director of Kids Discovery Factory. “These pop-up events allow us to continue building excitement for the future museum while also making meaningful educational experiences available right now.”

In addition to providing fun and engaging activities, the program aims to strengthen community connections, encourage family engagement, and inspire children to see themselves as creators, inventors, and problem-solvers. The events also help introduce families to the mission and future vision of Kids Discovery Factory as a regional destination for playful learning.

Kids Discovery Factory has already impacted more than 50,000 children through outreach programs, camps, and educational events across southeastern Indiana. Support from organizations like the Ripley County Community Foundation helps ensure that these opportunities continue to grow and remain accessible to families throughout the region.
