Exciting New Exhibits

Get ready for three floors of hands-on fun, imagination, and discovery! Our exciting new museum will feature interactive exhibits designed for children ages 0–14 and their families, with something to spark curiosity at every age and stage. From engineering challenges and tech-powered art to creative play spaces and sensory exploration, each level is packed with opportunities to learn through play.

AirWorks
Feel the power of air and wind come to life! Visitors will dive into the world of wind energy through hands-on exhibits that range from high-flying tabletop experiments to full-body wind tunnels. Whether you're spinning turbines, channeling airflow, or launching objects with the force of air, these experiences make the invisible unforgettable—turning moving air into an epic adventure in science and discovery!

Honey Factory
Honeycombs, immersive gardens, and pollinators combine to create an immersive environment connecting early learners with nature’s industrious worker species. This space’s “Bee Hotel” can coordinate with Wood Factory and take-home projects to
connect families with crafting.

Discovery Yard
This outdoor play space invites children to engage all their senses in a natural, hands-on environment. Kids can dig and pour in the sand and water play zones, explore textures and colors in vibrant garden beds, and make joyful noises with oversized outdoor musical instruments. Designed to inspire curiosity, creativity, and calm, this space offers endless opportunities for discovery through touch, sound, movement, and play.

ArtWorks
ArtWorks will be a rich arts environment that encourages
creative problem-solving and risk-taking as children explore a wide range of art disciplines with STEAM connections to both process and product. Access to a wide variety of art mediums will encourage children to focus on the open-ended process of artistic creation and problem-solving rather than the final product. This space will also double as the party space.

Tech Deck
Tech Deck blends technology and art into immersive, interactive experiences where visitors create. The Animated Sandbox responds to movement, touch, and choice, turning curiosity into
colorful, ever-changing works of art. Draw Alive invites kids to turn their artwork into avatars, exploring how creativity and
technology work together.

Assembly Floor
Visitors will investigate the relationship between materials and form through both tabletop and large-scale immersive building systems. In the Wood Workshop, children of all ages use real tools to solve creative problems as they build with wood. Nearby, a video station allows visitors to see how products are made at regional manufacturers’ factories. Through these experiences, visitors gain knowledge of structure, scale, material properties, tools, geometry, and factory production processes.

Design and Innovation Studio
The IN-MaC Design Studio, a partnership with Purdue University, encourages older visitors and classes to explore new approaches to design thinking, problem-solving, technology, and creative skill development. Unique tools and
experiences provide opportunities for visitors to become the next generation of high-tech thinkers. Hands-on experiences include robotics, coding, engineering, additive manufacturing, and science learning modules.

Machine Yard
Step into the Machine Yard and discover how simple machines power big ideas! In this interactive exhibit, visitors will explore gears, levers, pulleys, and more to see how everyday factory work gets done. At the heart of the experience is the Grain Mover, a jaw-dropping, hands-on "wow" exhibit where guests work together to move materials across the factory using pulleys, conveyor belts, and an Archimedes screw. It’s teamwork, engineering, and pure fun in motion!

Test Track
Before products ever leave the factory floor, manufacturers rigorously test how they move, perform, and respond to real-world forces. In Test Track, visitors step into the role of quality engineers, using raceways to test balls and cars just like manufacturers test their products. By testing slopes, surfaces, and starting heights, visitors explore motion, friction, gravity, speed, momentum, and energy and how small changes affect the performance of the balls and cars.

Light Bay
Step into a dazzling world where light is your paintbrush! In this immersive exhibit, visitors of all ages will explore the magic of light as an artistic and scientific medium. Create glowing masterpieces, experiment with color mixing, and manipulate beams, shadows, and reflections. From glowing walls to interactive light sculptures, this studio invites you to see—and shape—light like never before. It’s hands-on, radiant, and unforgettable!
